Why were Walter Wetzel and Two Guns White Calf omitted?

[edit]

Why is there no mention of the instigator of the original logo, Walter Wetzel, from the Blackfeet Nation?

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/dec/07/a-native-american-designed-washingtons-logo-now-his-family-want-it-back

And no mention either of the person who was the inspiration for the illustration.

Seems wikipedia wants to completely erase Native Americans' connections to the franchise. Hayden41 (talk) 11:29, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Hayden41:, feel free to add material if you think it is appropriate. That's what is great about Wikipedia; anyone can edit. meamemg (talk) 14:03, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid the page is protected and cannot be edited, at least I have no such privileges. Hayden41 (talk) 16:13, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Hayden41 A mention of Mr Wetzel was added to the section "Redskins name and logo controversy" on May 16, apparently as a result of Senator Daines' testimony on the subject at a Senate hearing. I have added the link to John Two Guns White Calf and added an extra sentence based on the Guardian link you provided. Thanks for the suggestion. rbrwr± 20:51, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! Hayden41 (talk) 05:20, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

NFL Hall of Fame Members

[edit]

Darrel Green is not included in the list of Hall of Fame members for some reason. 65.190.59.4 (talk) 17:57, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Look again. He is listed (but with his name spelled correctly). 1995hoo (talk) 18:13, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, to follow up, the Hall of Fame members table is arranged somewhat strangely in that it goes across rather than down. I wouldn't object if someone else wants to rearrange that, but I don't feel strongly enough to bother doing it myself. 1995hoo (talk) 18:45, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It was done that way to avoid having to scroll. I made it more standard and also removed all the color cruft from the section. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:22, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant about horizontal versus vertical was that it went across each row and then down to the next line (envision a stacked set of multiple instances of the letter "Z," as it were, to describe how you were to proceed if you wanted to read it in order) as opposed to going down one column and then back up to the top of the next column (envision two parallel instances of the pipe character). I've never really had reason to pay a lot of attention to how Wikipedia table formatting works, but I assume (without knowing for certain) that there is some automatic way to make a longer table split at roughly the halfway point so that everything after that point becomes a second column to reduce the need to scroll. That's what I was getting at by saying the table was arranged "somewhat strangely"—it wasn't arranged in that sort of way. I suspect the anonymous IP editor was reading down the left-hand column, didn't see Darrell Green listed, and didn't think to look at the other column. 1995hoo (talk) 13:43, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think if you add "| cols = 2" at the beginning of the table will cause it to wrap to a second column. Assadzadeh (talk) 16:01, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
